I just put the engine from my 94 pickup into my 85 4runner i just picked up it dint have an engine when i got. All the wiring connections are different from 85 to 94 i was wondering if anybody has done this kind of a swap before and what they did about the wiring issue i thought aboyt cutting and splicing the connector from the 94 harrness to the 85 harness and also thought of swaping the whole haress and ecu over any info would be helpful thanks

If you have the harness for the 94, swapping it will probably minimize other problems later on. It's a lot of work, but so is splicing the new into the old.

If you were just putting all the old elctronics on it then you could ditch the new harness but since you had no motor to start with then yes use the new harness.
