picking up an 86, but i have a few questions?

hey guys, im picking up a 86 4x4, and i was wondering if the transfercase will work for a dual xcase set up? i have an 84 4x4 and would eventually like to have dual xcases. i looked at the truck for the doors, for half doors but i decided to pick up the whole thing. Im getting it for 300 so i couldn't pass it up. thanks for the help!

Yes, the transfercase will work. I am not certain if it has a forward shift transfercase, but even if it does, it can be converted. I am getting a 85 4Runner tomorrow, I am taking the case out of it and adding it onto my 83.

It should have a top shift case in it. My 86 does.

i started tearing things off the donor yota, i took the passanger door for a half door cuz i messed up on the first one i tried, t-case trans, driveshafts, rear axle, and alot of interior parts and other exterior parts. heres a few pics,

I might be picking up either an '87 or '88 with running EFI for $700 later this week. Glad I'm not in your area. lol..
