I have a 79 pickup, and I am trying to locate the VIN number... it's not on the door jam, or the dash. where else could it be? I want to see if the title has been junked on it or not yet. Thanks

I searched around and couldn't find it, but maybe go to a junk yard. Those guys know about that kind of thing, you might get lucky.

There is a little plate on the firewall in the engine compt. right in the middle above the valve cover that will have your VIN number and your paint codes and gear codes and all that good stuff.
