Anyone ever heard of sheer pins in lockouts. I know a guy running them in a rock buggy, he has the front gears welded and the special pins in his lockouts sheer off before a axle blows. I know he is running a Dana 44 Do they make these for yotas? Been a while since I have had mine apart cant remember how they ingage inside.

Some of us cant shit money. I havnt broken a front stock birf yet. Although I am not locked and dont have a heavy foot. It would be nice to weld my front end and not have to worry about blowing an axle which is more time consuming to change. If a lockout did blow You could still wheel out in 3 wheel.

i cant shit money either took me 3 years to finally get the cash for alloy axles and long joints for my dana 44. the stock birf is pretty weak and u are now goin to make the front end even weaker with the fuseable link. i would keep it open and start saving pennies.

Fusible hub gears seemed like a good idea. But people started shying away when the force from the hub letting go was transfering back and wasting their lockers as well. I have a welded front. I guarentee you will break your stock birfs if you go that route. To yourself a favour and pony up the 215 bucks for a lockrite. You will still break birfs but at least you will be able to turn. There will always be a weak link. When i got my longfield 30spline super set i blew a hub clean off the second time out, shearing all six hub bolts and wasting the dowel.
I dont shit money, i just give them my visa number and tell myself i will find a way to pay for it.

Yea, I hear ya. Life is short, times are hard here's my fucking credit card ;D. I will just leave it alone for now and keep on beating on it. Maybe I will come across a set of full size axles.
