I have an 85 longbed and would really like to have the extra cab room of an xtra cab. How hard is it to swap bodies as far as underhood body-to-engine attachments go (coil, brake booster, etc.) Also, what are the chances of finding a good body to use? If this turns out to be too difficult. I may just bob the bed. I would like a double bob though for the short box look. Thanks.

an extra cab frame and long bed frame are the same so if you can find the short bed and an extra cab you wouldnt have to bob the front of your bed

No I meant if the body swap turned out to be too difficult, I would double bob the bed and go for a single cab short bed look. Thanks for the reply any others would be great.

Shouldn't be to hard to find an xtra cab truck for a donor.
2WD's with blown 22Rs go for free around here.

If your 85 has EFI, look for a donor with a 22RE, otherwise you'll have to swap the harness.
