I have a 83 with a 22r and I'm making a racer out of it and was wondering if I would have any problems with power if i put 33in tires on it?

You'll lose a bit unless you regear.

I doubt your going to be able to make much of a racer out of a 22r no matter what kind of tires you put on it unless you do EXTENSIVE motor work to it. My 22r is running 35 12.50's with 5.29 gears and I am lucky to keep it at the speed limit on hills or in a stiff breeze. I have bored it .10 over, with a LC Engineering performance head(bigger valves), LC Cam, header, etc.. blah blah blah. An engine swap is #1 on my wish list. To answer your question though, I simply will agree with fourwd1.

Thanks for the advise however I don't need much speed for the race, it is more of an endorance race. Its on the toughest couse in US. If you want to check it out the web site is www.lm4w.org Thanks again

Regear to 4.88 and you'll pretty much be a little better than the stock ratio with 33" tires.
