Hi. I'm new to the site and I'm currently in the process of buying an 84 long bed yota. It's been sitting in a shed since 97. I changed all the fluids and fired the truck up (with about twenty minutes worth of tinkering and cussing)
The truck runs pretty darn good but it's weak as water in the power dept. It has the stock size tires and rims, 22r motor and a five speed. It's honestly feels like it's geared to tall. I never managed to get it past third gear.
Question 1. Were all yota 4 cylinder pickups factory geared with 4.10 gear ratios? I swear this truck feels like it's geared higher than the 93' that I used to own.
Question2. Is the 84 standard cab frame the same length as the 84 extended cab short bed frame?
I know these questions may have already been addressed in the past but I couldn't find them in the threads.
And other info for restoration of this truck would be greatly appreciated. (links, etc. etc.)
Thanks for your time.

Question 1. Were all yota 4 cylinder pickups factory geared with 4.10 gear ratios? In 84, yes. In later years, no. Yes

partstrain.com has allot of fenders and other body parts. 4.10s are in all 5speed toys stock with 31s mabe it needs more then 20min of work to run better. a complete tunup carb cleaner good gas and drive it around to clear out the carb and pipes. make sure you muffler and cat are clear of rust flakes and rats. i had a rat move it to my muffler when i was away...took a while to find what happend to my power haha

The carb if not treated right for storage will get corrosion in it, especially after sitting that long. I'd say tear it apart and give it a good cleaning and a rebuild.
