Durring cold weather my emergency break seems to always freeze up... so i have to leave it off durring the winter months.. anyone have any ideas to help stop this from happening? i have a 2000 tacoma with a 6 inch trail master lift... it is a 2.7 4 cyl.
I also had this problem on my 1990 truck with a 3 inch body lift.
thanks for your help... biscuit

If it were mine I would trace the E-brake cable and see if there were any places where it was hanging up.

It's not uncommon on any vehicle in sub-zero temps. I just don't use the e-brake when it's below 32*.

Getting some good quality lube (better than wd40) and lubing all the pivot points and cables should help.

I have the same problem with mine. I do as fourwd1 does and just dont use it when its cold out. I tried lubing it up and all but it still does it if it gets cold enough and Im tired of fighting it.
