If you haven't found it already, you can send other members personal messages (called Instant Messages here).
If you click on a users name, you will get their profile. At the bottom of the profile, you can "Send This Member A Private Message".
Take a look at the top RIGHT of your screen. There is your message center. When you get a message, it will tell you that you have a new message.
Try it out. It is a great way to have a personal conversation without clogging the board, and without using email.
