;D Looking for front locker info. I KNOW ARB's are the way to go but it ain't happening. So, I'm left w/Lockrights or Tru Trac. I know how the Lockright acts in the rear & I ain't lookin' forward to it in the front. Does anybody have any experience w/the True Trac? Let me know. Later...

well i have a friend who ran a true-trac in a ford 8.8 ande trached it with 37's it didn't work very well at all when it wasn't broke, it wasn't smooth. when a tire pulled it took 3 seconds for it to stop and get the other one power. but i think you should go with the lockrite i have one in the rear and it's not that bad but i think it's way better than a true-trac.

The dodge owner that pulled me out of the mud a couple weekends ago mentioned he had had a tru trac and it broke twice. Now he is running a limited slip.

I'm sorry to hear about all the broken Tru Tracks. I have a friend that runs one in the front of his V8 converted Toy. He has broken birfs, axles, hubs, and diff gears, but never his Tru Track. I have no explanation as to why. He is one of these "skinny peddal is the only why to get through an obstical" guys.

I have been reading that True-Trac is a waste of money because it is hardly felt if any at all! How true is that? I was thinking of fitting a Detroit Locker in the rear and a TrueTrac in the front, but with all the slagging against it, I'm getting kinda put off now! Question is: Should I fit a TrueTrac in the front with a Detroit in the rear or would it be enough to have just the Detroit Locker in the rear while leaving the front an open diff?

You might get a tad bit more out of the TrueTrac in the front, but I wouldn't spend the horde of cash it would cost to get so little in traction. I am rolling with two Aussies, I have no complaints about the front locker, it goes where I steer it.

But is the Aussie Locker a locker or just a limited slip diff?

But is the Aussie Locker a locker or just a limited slip diff? Its a full racheting type locker. The difference between it and a full on Detroit is the detroit replaces the case where as the Aussie installs in the stock case.
