I have now come across several different lockers available for Toyotas. So far I have seen: Detroit Quick lock LSD ARB
How do each of the lockers work and what are the good and the bad for each of them?

Well, I have a detroit. the way it works is that it is an autolocker. This is when the ring and pinion begin to have pressure attatched to them the locker makes both shafts turn together. This is probably the same as any other auto locker. I love my detroit. It is not to loud when it engages and has helped my performance alot. This can be said pretty much for any other locker out there. Hope it helps.

I have an Aussie locker they are new to the market. I think they are about 260.00 right now thats for hte 4cyl. I dont know if they have one for the v6 yet. The rear ends are different. With just a locker in the rear it will double your off road capabilities and locked front and rear is just awesome. They have their quirks like hte clicking when turning but its not that bad. Well worth the $$$$$$$$$.

while everybody is talking about lockers, let me ask a question. i have E-Z lockers front and rear, i get the clicking and the quirky turns and my truck almost seems to pulsate thru long wide turns on asphalt. i can deal with all this, but my truck every now and then will make a bone shattering bang in the rear end, mostly from 1st to 2nd when exiting a corner. i know this is just the locker engaging but how bad is this on the ring and pinion. its kinda cool when it happens and i got someone riding with me, usually scares the hell out of them, i just hope i am not tearing up my gears too prematurely. not that i am thinking about removing the locker, i just wonder if i need to start saving for my next set of gears. thanks.
