Throwing a question out there that has been baffling my mind and some of the guys I work with. How do you set the backlash on your ring and pinion? I know how to take the thing apart, but I am trying to figure out how to set it, in general, back together. I mean is it the same way for any axle, or does it change from axle to axle? I would not think it would, but for the sake of asking why not.

Each individual axle has it's own specs. You gotta know how to "read" the marks from the marking compound. There are numerous articles on the net that discuss this subject. I suggest paying a pro the $100 to set it up. That way it's HIS baby if something goes wrong! ;D Later...
