quick question...Ive got an 89 toy 3.0 with 4.11 stock gears. I just ordered 37" tires. My question is, do you think I will have enough power to pull those tires? Or am I looking at new gears too? the 3.0 has only 150,000 miles on it, and it runs fairly well.
Please let me know what kind ospower loss Im looking at.
thanks, bloke

Well i would think that there would be a noticable loss in power. You prolly have 31s right now and that extra 6 inches is gonna prolly be alot of added weight to be spinning around. Do you have a lift to fit those tires?

I'm running 4.56 gears with 37's and it sucks. The toyota motors make their power at too high an RPM to pull those tires off the line. And top speed sucks too. I would go with 5.29's, it was an extra grand I just haven't had to spend since getting the tires though.

I agree with Sean, Get the 5.29's. I have the 3.0 with stock gears and 35's. I hate it in some sticky areas. They will open up worlds to you.
