here, in central new york... $250 install per gear set. plus parts. parts are a complete install "set" then you've got the other "parts" the install"set"will have gaskets, shims and your main carrier bearings.(full set that is) the other "parts"....... carrier and cross pin in perfect shape? axle bearings and seals? brake comp in good shape? (have you ever pulled the rear drums?, often bend upon removal) so yes, basic install $250 per "end" realistic complete install, about $500 per "end" doesn't hurt to start calling aroung the local shops.

It really depends on where your at, In places like Colarado and CA and whereever there is lots of 4wheelin it would br arnd what 94cnytoy, but here in NC for example at a 4wheel drive shop it would easily cost 1000 dollars altogether, If you wanna do it yourself you can find cheap third members and install it yourself like what I did.

None of the places in NC would do what Rockcrawlintoy suggested(they want to do the whole job which means$$$), but I know of places out of state that do, So I would just check arnd. Most normal shops arnd here would give me the funny look if I asked them to do anything differential related. Putting in third members isnt the hard part its the setting up the ring&pinion that gives people trouble because it requires special tools.
