hey i have an 85 4runner with 38s... how long before i change the gears? and what gears? its a 22re (DD and weekend wheeler)

whatever stock is... i need whatever is gonna do best for a daily driver/wheeler .... as you can tell i dont know much at this point but i'm tryin to learn. thanks

so u have stock gears and 38s damn how much does life suck driving that around. i got 37s and 5.29s and life is bearable. i say do 5.29s and call it a day

WIth 38's you really need something lower like 5.71's, esp on a DD.
Although they are a little weaker than 5.29's, they should be fine on a weekend wheeler.

i wouldnt go with 5.71s. they are too weak. hell i broke the ring gear with my 5.29s. time ot build a 60
