"Don't pee into the wind."
Don't sh*t where you eat.

Wherever you go, there you are.
Seriously, I too just received my 5.29 gears and they are sitting in the living room waiting for me to finish up my front 4" long travel setup. It gets the final welds tomorrow. My big question is this, do I need to dissasemble the front knuckles from the locking hubs in, or can I take off the knuckle bearing caps and slide the whole knuckle off from there, allowing removal of the axles? I would prefer not to have to dissasemble the whole knuckle again, it wasn't my favorite project when I rebuilt them the first time. Plus, I don't want to have to buy all the gaskets and seals after I just rebuilt the knuckles.

If you're asking what is the easiest way to pull the axle shafts so you can pull the 3rd, there are 2 schools of thought. I prefer the normal way, some say pulling the whole knuckle is easier. Once you've had to replace birfs you'll figure the easiest way for you.

Either is doable, if you go in through the hub you should be setting the preload on the wheel bearings, if you go in through the king pins you will have to set king pin bearing preload. I would rather do wheel bearing preload myself and can change a birf through the hub in twenty or thirty minutes.

I've already done it from the hubs inward. So I guess this time I will give it a go from the other direction and see if it is easier. Thanks for the info.
