Yeah the spools are $190 and the aussie locker is $240 so im just goin to spend the extra cash for the locker, ive never taken apart a differential before but im goin to give it a shot and hopefully it works out.

It is not hard, you can do it with basic tools easily in a day. Not sure what kind of truck you have but if it is a third member with the screw in/out backlash adjustment, just be VERY careful and mark where everything is set before you start tearing down the third. It will no doubt be one of the best things you get for your rig!

I used to have an 88' standard cab with a 3" lift and 33's. I put a lockrite locker in it, and that truck took me places you wouldn't believe. Definitely a great investment!

Setting up gears is a lot more difficult then installing a lunchbox locker. For the average person its not even worth trying. Diff setups usually run around 100 to 150 bucks if you bring in just the diff.

If you haven't torn a 3rd member down before it might be wise to save the extra cash to have someone do it for you. Plus you'll need a press and bearing breaker (spreader) to tear apart. Not a common tool to have for some people.
