Chain Drive or Gear?

Hi all,

Maybe a stupid question, but I've been reading on Marlin Crawler's site about the dual transfer case and they mention the chain drive standard transfer case!

How do I know if my truck has a gear driven t/c or a chain drive t/c? I never opened it so I have no idea what's inside!

My truck is a V6 3.0lt 1991
