IMHO my advice would be, don't sleep at the wheel!!! ;D
A locker would be good, but first off what all do you have plans for doing to your rig? Also what kind of wheeling do you do?
For finding out what gears you have jack up the tires. Put a reference mark on the tire and one on the driveshaft. Rotate the tire two full revolution. Carefully count the number of full revolutions the driveshaft makes.
This is your gear ratio. In other words, if the drive shaft turns 3 turns for one tire revolution, you probably have a 3.73 gear ratio.
Turning the tire for 2 full revolutions and dividing the drive shaft revolutions by two will give you a more accurate reading.
Your reading won't be exact, but it should be what's closest to the standard Toyota ratios of 4.10, 4.30, 4.56, or 4.88. Also other lower gears are 5.29 and 5.71.
I'm guessing you might have 5.71 with 39's.

i already knew how to determine the gears i jus failed to have time but 5.71's does sound about rite since i can white smoke bothem on dry pavment but mainly i do more mud riding than anything bc down here that aint very many rocks but a few hills but mostly mud or lakes lol

A locker would be good then. ARB would be good if you can spend the $$$. Then you can unlock then while on the street and lock them when even needed offroad.

ARB's are running about $800+. Plus you will need to get an air compressor and wiring kit ($150-$250). As Sean said I'd just get a lockrite or detroit locker unless yon have the extra cash burning away in your pocket.
Best places to buy lockers: ringpinion.com (Randy's R&P) marlincrawler.com allprooffroad.com MC and AP both (I believe) get there lockers from Randy's

For ARB stuff go to Rocky Road Outfitters. Eveything I've wanted or have gotten that is a ARB product these folks have had the lowest prices. www.rocky-road.com/index2.html
