im having a brainfart, i have a 1981 that im building, i will be using this truck mostly in mud and woods duck hunting and ,well hunting a lot of thrashing and yanking jumping ditches and just all around giving it hell, i have the 22r and i want the most power but it still has to get out on the interstate and pull a jon boat too. i really like the tsl 34x 9.50 or the ltb 34x10.50 , i want to put the right gear and locker in, can someone give me some feedback, thank u

I'm running 34x9.50's right now with a 5-Spd and 22-REC, it had plenty of power until the oil pump went out. Now I am rebuilding it and beefing it up some more. I would go with 4.88's with 34's that will put you about at the stock ratio. As for a locker you are going to want a selectable or e-locker if you plan on using it on road alot, otherwise you will wear down on your tires really fast.

I would say a rule of thumb be 32" and below 4:56 and 34" and above 5:29 gears...33' are middle of the road but if a DD I would go 4:88, if a trailer queen I would go 5:29
