that to me seems easier than trying to find a shop to do them right, probably more expensive though, huh. but i would feel alot better with them having a reputable company like the ones u mentioned doing them and just sending me the whole chunck ready to install and im sure if any of yall see that i am screwing up doing this someone would say something. i have no problem paying a little extra to have them done wright the first time.

Setting up gears isnt that hard. Finding someone to do it shouldnt be hard. Its usually between 100-150 to set up a center chunk if you pull it yourself.
And i certainly havent babied my 5.29 with e-locked rear and welded front. No problems thus far though i have broken other driveline parts.

i have yukon 5.29s and am on my second front and 3rd rear. front broke because i jumped and stayed in the throttle. and me an my pops set up the new ones. but the rear i had professionally setup and they went out going over a speed bump. next ones i had another "professional" install, and went out on the highway. so i ordered complete 3rd member from randys. and their workin out, probably just bad installation and badluck. but thats my experience.

If you don't break them in properly they more than likely are going to fail,as for when who knows.Randy's will stand behind their product if you follow the proceedure correctly. At a glance they will know if you did so or not. I'll see if I can find that info again.

5:29's need to be treated like any other gear....wear them in and they should last you for a long while...For a stronger gear (actualy softer more resilient) you can have the R/P Cryogenicly treated and then reheat treated...But this path leads to insanity like it did me building bullet proof front end, indestructable and if any thing fails it is all covered for life.

randys ring and pinion will only cover it if it breaks when your runnin pretty small tires.
