My 1993 Toyota gets 11mpg on a good day. What is the average?

I don't know what you have in your truck, but mine typically gets around 15-17 mpg. That's not highway either. That was with 31" tires, I have 33" on now, not really sure how much now? I don't really have any major mods, throttle body spacer, K&N filter, and FlowMaster muffler. It's a 3.4 6. 11 sounds low to me.

If your '93 still has the stock 3.0, 11mpg is pretty lame. You should be getting closer to at least 15-16mpg, unless you have bigger than stock tires. If not, run some injector cleaner, like Seafoam, through your engine. Change the air filter and check your tire pressure too.

My 3rd toyota 4x is a 98 t100 3.4 v6 with 33's and a throttle body spacer. i get 11 mpg and gets worse by the month. tire press. is ok. new air and fuel filters. plugs and wires are beautiful. a buddy almost convinced me it's a prob. w/ the ecm. but if so it wouldn't get worse, factory settings won't change by itself. i will try injector cleaner next, but the computer would detect a rich or lean mix and report it to you through the check engine light if leaking or clogged. maybe ox. sensors went bad? bad fuel economy is harder to diagnose the newer the vehicle. the computer's goal is to burn fuel as cleanly as possible, and will compensate any problem by creating another problem, thus hiding the original problem and never lighting the check engine warning. your only clue something is not right is mileage. eventually bad things can happen, worn rings, etc if not corrected. i will post results once diagnosed... anyone's suggestions are appreciated

okay don't know if you guys are still having this problem, but here's what i found out: the injectors were clean, the pre-cat ox. sensor was reading a little slow but okay, the coolant temp was running a little low(about 184) but may not matter. so, i am 10000 from getting the new timing belt/water pump, when they're in there(hell no i'm not doin it) i'll have the cam timing checked. this may be the problem, i will post down the line if the poor mileage is corrected.

ran some stp injector cleaner through and mileage seems to have gotten better, about 14 mpg. also i have the formula for mileage difference in tire size for those of us who have not had the odometer gear changed out to compensate.
pi (3.14) X diameter stock tire size -------------------------------------- pi X existing tire size
multiply this percent by the number of miles per tank and the difference is the xtra miles
