I was wanting to know when Toyota changed the rear window of the Land Cruiser?I like the sliding rear window, but I have seen later models (00 - 03) where the tailgate lifts instead of the rear sliding window and the tailgate that lowers. When did it change?

What part of the window are you talking about? Are you talking about the side rear windows? I think they stopped making those when they switched body styles from the 96-97 style. As far as the rear gate window, I'm not aware of any that slid open. I had a 87 and now a 96 and both of them have been lift gates that split with a solid window.

Thanks for your reply Snorkleman. I was referring to the rear gate window. I could have sworn that I test drove a 1992 LC that had the sliding rear gate window. Hmm, maybe not. Maybe it was just the 4Runner. I really like this feature in those SUV's. I'll have to look on traderonline.com to see if there is a LC with the sliding rear gate window. I looked at the 2001 and 2002 Sequoia's that had the power rear gate window, but those are a little pricey. I need more room without emptying my pockets. Minivans are not an option. thanks again.
