Hey yall,
I've got a 93 single cab pickup, and since day one i have had nothin but problems with her! I bought it thinking it was only and thermostat that went bad and a fan clutch. But soon did i find out i had a head gasket problem. I tore it all apart and saw that someone before me had the same problem cuase i saw the head had been milled once already. So i contemplated on gettin a new motor for it but i decided to just fix the problem and go on with it. After i got her all back together she ran like a champ for about a few months then i aquired a knock in the bottem end...So what i did was i just got some 50 weight oil and hoped for the best!! Not long after i first heard the knockin she blew up on me when i was goin huntin one day in october!! Now its like April 3rd and my new motor is in it and shes gonna fire up (i hope) for the first time in like 4 months! I got an engine from ATK thats remanufactured and all that stuff. I also put in a stage 4 clutch from exedy racing along with a Hot Shot full stack intake (like the K&N but this was a lil bit nicer with a stainless steel pipe all for liek 160 bucks shipped) and to top it off a Venom 400 module!! But i guess its time for me to go out and get her runnin.

;D Welcome to TOR! Good luck w/the motor! I, for one, would be very interested in a w-w/o comparison about the Venom module once you get it all dialed in. Later...

Back again....
I got her runnin! I set the timing at 5 degrees before TOD, and she ran like a turd! So what i had to do was advance the timing a little bit becuase i really have no backpressure running a straight cat, (tore the exhaust off fourwheeling one day). I put on my full stake intake and it seems to be pretty sweet, i really cant hear it over the exhaust but as soon as i mellow the exhaust down a little bit im sure i will hear the exposed conical filter! I'm still in my break-in period so i really haven't had a chance to jam throught the gears and see how much more power i have aquired with my new engine, but i know one thing is for sure is that i can definatly notice a huge differnce running low RPM's rather then before! I think after i hit about 1500 miles on the new engine im going to install my venom module. I really dont want to put too much strain on it yet! But once i do i will let you guys know what kind of difference i notice. I know when i ordered it it said liek a 25% increase in power, so i guess we will soon find out!

Just wondering is it a 4cyl or a v-6 that you have?

Yea i got the notorious 22re...the venom came in but im still tryin to figure out how to hook this joker up. Their instructions arent the best. But once i install it i think i will do a product review on it and let everyone know what i think about it!

My new engine is shot...i did nothin wrong to it and now shes a knockin unit! I called ATK and hopefully the claim will be accepted for my third and hopefully final engine!!!

sounds like its time for a 4.3V6 or a V8 swap! Good luck with the 3rd motor.
