Hello folks. I'm a new off roader and don't know very much, but I'm happy to learn everything I can. I like to go out on the trails frequently, lots of fun! I have a 1994 4runner limited, and it's runs wonderfully, no problems i the past 8 months I've had it. It has about 140,000 miles on it. But there's something weird with it at the moment, I just took it out a couple hours ago and I've noticed the rear is alot lower then usual, I'm guessing it's the weight of the mud, I checked under it and everything seemed fine and it runs ok. Compared picture one and two, as you can see... the second one looks alot more angled. I don't know very much about the mechanics of a car, so this is worrying me

Welcome to the board !!! First I would take it to the carwash and spend more money spraying off underneath the truck than on the top. I used to blow $10 just getting all the mud out from under the truck. Mud can really weigh your truck down when it is already soft in the rear. The 4runner has a tendency to sag anyway in the rear under load. If you also have some gear in the back of the runner that can make it sag too. The coil springs are just softer in the rear. If you want to increase the ride height of the runner in the rear, there are lift kits that will take it up. Check out the lift section of the board. Glad to see a 4runner getting muddy!!!

Welcome Beth! Nice mud pic. and like snorkel said, wash the underside. If it doesnt go away, then time for some new coils, or spacers. Im also thinking about the shocks going out, but thats tomuck sag for it just being shocks. Let us know with the outcome of the wash.

I used to blow $10 just getting all the mud out from under the truck. Damn I'm glad my rig's easy to get under and get cleaned out. I think the most I've spent for the underneath section was pushing $2.
WELCOME to TOR Beth. I think these guys got you on the right track, except for the shocks. They wouldn't make a difference in your ride height. Wash it, really good, and let us know of any chances.
Good luck.

hey welcome and nice mud pic get the sag fixed and keep the pics coming I havn't spent a dime on the underside we have a hot water pressure washer at work ;D it is definitly a nice perk I spend a couple of bucks on the exterior when I exit the trails so I don't get harassed by the man again I don't think he liked the flying mud chunks ;D
