Well this is a little late since most of you have seen a couple of my posts already in alot of the forums. But I will do my best to give a proper introduction.
First off my real name is Matt, born in raised in Louisa, Virginia, now attending Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. I'm 19 and when I'm not under my yotas I hunt, fish, and actively run with my volunteer fire dept/rescue squad where I have been for almost 5 years now. I've driven some big ass trucks for only being 19, and I'm trying my best to learn as much as I can about trucks and cars. I love fabrication, of parts mostly. I have held several odd summer jobs and spent many hot days in the shop building adapters, extensions, welding up crap and workin by myself.
As for my trucks.... ;D
I got my first car when I turned 16, it WAS a volvo 940 sedan, and I didnt mess with it much. But I wrecked it as many teens do.
For 8 months I drove a 85 Ford F-150 and saved every penny I could.
Then I bought my first Toy (i have ALWAYS wanted one)
a 89 Pickup 3.0 V6 ex cab COMPLETELY stock from an old guy who worked on nuclear power plants. I was the third owner and picked up the truck with 246,000 miles on it, shortly thereafter I started learning about toys.
I put in a 3inch bod lift myself, slapped on some used 35x12.50s on alcoa rims that came off a Chevy.
Put in a serious stereo, slapped on a bunch of interior paint and seats to add a custom look. Then I put on a thush glasspack muffler. I drove the truck til college came and sold it with 290,000 miles on it, and it was the toughest truck I ever owned, (i have pics, just ask) I used to wheel through the deepest thickest muck I could find and come out coated and with the truck trying to compress water and mud. 5 minutes on the main road and she was back to top performance.
I bought my new truck from a family friend, a 94 pickup 3.0 V6 Ex Cab (yes same color) LOL. this time though, it was an automatic, but the price was right. I have experienced alot more trouble with this truck, but of course it has always been my fault. However, she might be gettin an engine swap soon and it's a reman engine out of NJ, so I'll take everyone at TOR along for that ride. I like to do all the work myself whenever possible, that way if it breaks its on me. And I will also be adding some suspension lift/bod lift, tires, wheels, exhaust, rear bumper (of course), bugshield, among a host of other mods. And once again, I will do my best to post all of this with pics and full write ups for the crew at TOR
;D So....its good to be here, love the site, and thanks for reading...check out my posts cuz I'll be reading ya'lls
