loged on first with wingnutty(new to this stuff),then switched to my actual name, Eddie.that was no fun, I was thinking ,I'm always dreaming about rock crawling, so i am a wantabe crawler, :-*A litlle better Anyway I have not found a better site then Toyotaoffroad ,way cool! ;D perfect for someone like me, completely obsessed with 4x4 fabrication,e.g lifts, tires, cages. I am pretty much a rookie,no doubt about it. But the desire ,and motivation is there.Shit I must inform you of my Toyota's I own a 87 toy pickup ,and a 91 4runner,the 4runner I baught for my wife ,way nice sport utility, have lots of plans, mostly luxery and cosmetic stuff. But the 87 pickup is my project*MY FIRST PROJECT * .
1st thing to do is the solid axle swap, maybe a set of chevy leaf springs (cheapest way I have found to get the flex I want). :(But I am a rookie,so if any one has the time I will listen, love to learn. Any way look forward to gaining knowledge from here, especially from you pro crawlers/fabricaters. I had back surgery 2 weeks ago, so I am rehabilitating, wich puts me back a few steps. Will be up and going soon. I am checking around locally for toy owners with the same passion for offroading that I have. Placerville,Cal is'nt that far from Carson City NV,wich is were I hill hop. Those boy's over the hill in hang town know thier trucks .I lived there for couple yrs, swansbarrow, that masqiuto rd was alot of fun,and when you pass my place and drive another few miles you will be at one of the gateways to desolation wildreness ,and the rubicon. I also lived in pollock pines for a time, there I was minutes from Ice house rd, and Iron Mountan, wich there was endless possability for fun. I really miss it there. I am going to try and squese a camping trip to sly park before the season's over. I could talk for days about trucks and any thing offroad.
TREK SAFELY,AND SOFTLY
