hey hows it goin, im new to the site and new to wheelin... ive rode dirtbikes for years so im pretty familiar with dirt...but on 4 wheels ive always like the pavement the reason i got in to wheelin was cause a guy i know was sellin his 83 yota with a custom flate bed and 33's for $400!!! i couldnt pass up the oppertunity to have fun. hahaha!!! so...yea...i was wonderin if some of the concepts from ridin a dirtbike crosses over to wheelin...example "if ur commin up to a big mud spot...do u gun it and go faster like u would on a bike?? so u dont get stuck..."

hi,cool,good deal,no. in that order...
About that "big mud spot". kinda two-fold here. bikes seem to be more forgiving in deep water and splashed mud. If you go too deep, you can always push or pull it out fairly easily yourself. Trucks just aren't made for that(unless $$$). If you don't know the where the bottom is? better have someone to pull you out and be ready to spend some $$$ if you suck in water. splashing in shallow puddles is fun... then theres the enviroment.... alot a trails(public and private)do not encourage excessive damage to the enviroment. did I mention driving fast through shallow puddles is fun? anyway.... momentum will help get you through mud.
keep in mind. must 4-wheelin(auto) is not a speed event. It's not racing. Its fun trail and spot riding at a reasonable "pace" taking advantage of complicated situations and vehicle control. when someone gets stuck.....or breaks something...you should help them, not beat them back to base camp. its really all about a group or social event together. Stew.
PS:this is all just my opinion. not claiming to be 100% right.

Any chance you have a pic of that 83? I like the older toys.
