hey guys, i guess i am doing this a bit backwards as i already posted a question a week ago, but thought i would introduce myself now.
just picked up an 84 yota for $1000, runs fine, has a little idle surge, rusty bed, trans and transfer case work great, front axle seals are leaking but all in all a good deal. has only 147k on it. i also have a 73 chevy blazer with a 6" lift, that needs a new trans. i took my 33" ssr's off the blazer and put them on the toy. they fit but rub a bit obviously. i'm just going to cut the fenders.
i have more of a car and performance background, but have always like off roading. i've built several 300+ HP 4 cyl. mitsubishi turbo motors, including the one in my galant vr4, which is awd and turbo. recently got a camaro z28 with an ls1 in it which is still in the basic mod stage. i'm kinda leaning toward spending mroe money on the yota for now though as i seem to be more and more interested in hitting the trails.
my future plans are a spool in the rear and a lockrite in the front, a mild lift, and a marlin crawler product of some sort, haven't made up my mind yet.

Welcome! Good lookin ol truck you picked up there. Leaf springs up front! Real easy to lift and cheap!!! Dont tear up the fenders just yet! Look at maybe add-a-leafs or a block!
