 just bought a 86 4runner sr5 22R-E from a friend, bodys is in great shape 1 minor spot of rust and needs a beefier rear bumper old one is bent to hell its sittin on 33" swampers w/ AR rims. i picked it up for a song and a dance 300 bucks the only thing is it needs a motor old one is kaputski, the cheapest remans ive found are around 11-1200, any sugestions as to how much it would cost to get a good motor and where i can get one, thanks much,  chewy

WELCOME! and sounds like a good deal. Might check the local bone yards or have you considered re-building the one you have or is it beyond help?

the yards around here dodnt have squat, im gonna tear into it next weekend and see if it is salvagable, it would be cheaper to rebuild than buy, i talked to a mechanic friend of myne and he'll rebuild or install a new one in trade for my 97 zl440 snowmobile its a deal for me that dahm thing is on its last of 9 lives. do you know the best place to get a good rebuild kit?
