Got a new to me toy. It is a '86 with 31x10.5 and no lift that i know of. The bed is rusted and i need to do something with that. New bed or? Any suggstions? This will be a dd with a little trail riding. A little mud is ok but i do not want to kill my truck. I will use my truck to haul odds and ends. This truck is replacing my sold/retired '73 k10 on 35's. I would like a little bigger tire when these wear out but do not want the truck any higher than has to be. My only concern with it is the low transfer case/cross member.

Thanks for the welcome aboard. I had already read the article on rust while surfing and new my problem. Was looking at the metal around and didnot think i have enough to make a flat bed on my budget. If a '90 is the same as my '86 may have a line on a 100 dollar bed. My metal supply may let me make a cross member for my truck and some stepbars if i like the way they turn out(not really my thing but the wifey's). The tires are almost new so it will be in the 2-3 years before lift/tire issues come about. A rear soft locker will most likely be the first drivetrain mod or a winch in the rep8000 price range. Agian thanks.
