Hello, I thought I had joined some time ago but couldn't dredge it up, so I'm here again. My name is Nate, I live in the real nor cal. I have several different toyotas in various states of disrepair. My DD is either my bone stock 91 2wd(the granny truck) or my mostly stock 80 lb 4by. I think if you took a very close look at my blood you'd see small toy emblems running through my veigns.
I've had my 4by since 99, and it's had a few problems. When I bought it the engine had low compression, then one day I forgot to tighten the radiator cap and it blew off, I didn't notice till I pushed in the clutch to stop and it died....siezed. I put my good-ish 22r block(300k mi) in it and it was fine till the seal around the water pump shaft blew out getting on the freeway. The temp rose a little then stopped, so I thought all was fine, but going up the hill to work it started pinging loudly, so I just drove the last mile to work (15 total w/no water). The head was warped so I slapped on a 20r head and was surprised by the diff. I'm slowly compiling parts to upgrade it more, but can't justify putting them on this engine as I have another ATK block w/low miles that's awaiting completion. This truck also likes to eat the stock 4.37s.
I don't really wheel, mostly use my truck for hunting, fishing and camping and such, but over time I hope to build it into a very competent off-roader, just to make getting into those good spots easier. I have a set of 35s waiting to get put on, but I need to find some good 5.29s first. I also plan on picking up another supra limited slip for the front, then shimming another a little tighter for the rear. I have a couple different sets of springs sitting around, and if I can talk my friend into letting me do it at his backyard shop I'm gonna pull my springs and do some mixing and matching of different leafs till I get 2 or 3" lift. I have plans of crossover steering later on, but the money just isn't there yet.
I spend most of my time either on Marlin or ebay. I go by the same name on Marlin, and I noticed atleast one other member here too. Not much else to say bout myself really, just wanna get this outa the way before I start posting.
