A Body Lift is just 1-2" spacers between the body and the frame. Allows you to fit larger tires and doesn't affect the ride.
A suspension lift is just that, a new suspension (springs and shocks) that allows larger tires and (hopefully) gives you a better ride and more wheel travel (articulation) and more clearance (as the frame sits higher also).
Then there are other methods of gaining clearance thru blocks (for rear leaf springs), longer shackles (for leaf springs), spacers (for coil springs), Add-A-Leafs (for leaf springs), BallJoint spacers (for front IFS), etc.
