I just wanted to say hello again and say that I'm looking for help building my truck. I have been over on www.yotatech.com for a few months now and decided to come back over here. I should have stuck where I have gained most, if not all, of knowledge ... from Hoodlum and friends. I'm going to have a few new posts started and look forward to learning new things and where to truely start building up my rig. I have been reading up and have been reading up and have a few ideas on how I want my truck to be setup. I'm going to start a project buildup thread in my year or somewhere forum. Any and all help will be appriciated and wanted. Chris '91 4x4 pickup extracab 5spd V6

My advice in general to you is this..... Let us know what you are first looking to achieve. When I say first, I mean what is the first stage of the build. What is the budget for the initial build? Then what is the next stage and time frame for this? What is the ultimate goal or set-up? Alot of money and time can be wasted on the initial build (or builds) if they do not add to the final anticipated goals. But... At the same time, some good advice and direction will get you some simple upgrades to get you out on the trails with a better set-up than you have already, for little money, that may just work out better for the short or long term. ( Ie...small mods to the IFS until a SAS can be performed ) Something as simple as a 2'' body lift and some trimming will get you by for a while with the IFS and won't hurt a SAS set-up in the future.
Good luck and we look forward to hearing from you. Just remember...you'll get BS here too...we can't control it..just be as specific as possible and keep an open mind.

I would like my truck to be a capable trail rig, but also comfortable to drive to work, around town, and small trips. I'm not going to purchase another vehicle for some time. I haven't really thaught about different stages of my build. I guess here's my idea of what I would like to see for my truck . . .
33x10.50 tires 15x7 or 15x8 rims 4.88 gears locker rear (maybe front) budbuilt skid/crossmember cbi rear bumper and sliders sonoran steel ifs truss idle arm brace low profile bumpstops 1.5" BJ spacers & 3" rear leaf springs ~ OR ~ 1" BL w/ 1" DT Lift Replacement Springs or Shackles Good Shocks Front and Rear U-Bolt Flip Kit and Rear Shock Relocation / \
I know that seems like a big list but that's just thinking outload about everything that I want for my truck. I hope that this gives you a better idea of what I want for my truck. I didn't make that list in any kind of order because I know some of them would be different based on the build process.
I hope you can help me out and give me a good starting point.
