I have been on this site a while now and finally made my way to the forum...I have two trucks one is an 85 with 3" body lift and about 6" suspension, it has a Chevy 305 and 38.5 tires with a tube bed and cage it does have Chevy springs in the rear but the flex is not very impressive it's more for the mud and hill climbing...I am also beginning on my next truck which is a 90 short bed with 33" boggers and a 3" BL I ran it like that for a while but now I am waiting on front leafs to finish the SAS and it is sanded down right now and will have a new paint job hopefully by Monday (not sure what color yet) also I am just a few pieces short of starting my rear 4 link...future plans are a double T-case, tube from cab back (no more stock frame), front 3/4 link, rock assault steering with hydraulic assist, and bigger tires...It should be ready for the trail by march/april...right now wife, work, and wheelin take up all my time so theres not much else to say.
cya around, Seth

WELCOME to TOR! We're glad you decided to join us. Sounds like you have some fun rigs to play with. I also had a '85 with 38"Swampers ;D Mine was powered by a 400+HP 350 w/t350 tranny until the frame finally gave in. It was also used for mud racing and hillclimbs. Now I'm in the process of building a '81 reg cab for rock crawling. Do you have any pics of your rigs?

Welcome aboard! Definitely sounds like you have some good TOYs there to play with. How do you have the Chevy springs setup? I've also got two 85's with 63" Chevy springs on them and the do great. One is a DD w/ 36's and the other is a caged trailer queen w/ 38's. Also have a 73 that I originally built as boonie crasher that I'm now in the the slow process of rebuilding into another rock crawler and might do the Chevy springs on also. Don't know for sure till I get to that point.
Good luck with build and to hear that wheeling is still one of the things taking up some of your time ;D

those sound like they are enough to keep ya busy! I'm part of the 85' crew as well. I have a standard cab, flatbed on 35's, but I don't have chevy springs. My rear springs are stocks springs flipped 180 degrees. Looking forward to seeing your creations!
