After many years with Nissan I have finally decided to switch over to Toyota. I really like the Tacoma's but they were always a little out of my price range. Thanks to my recent tax return and my Pathfinder telling me to get an new truck, I have decided to buy a fairly new Toyota this weekend. I am looking at 2. A 2005 and 2006 double cab 4x4, with TRD and sport package. Both have around 30k for mileage. I cant seem to find any differences between the 05's and 08's and I really dont need brand new so I think I will be happy with this selection. Any comments or suggestions. Are there any major diffs between the 05 and 08? I am new to the forum so it may take me a while to find all the info on this truck.

Glad to hear that your Nissan told you to buy a Toyota 
lol There's no real dofference between 05 and the 08's.They are the same.Def get the TRD off-road/sport version it will have either the Limited slip or locking differential(locking dif preffered).We don't have a whole lot of info on these trucks yet because not too many people have bought and built them up for serious off roading.I do see a lot of them as built mall crawlers but I myself haven't seen too many on the trails.But I'm sure we'll be seeing more of them out there real soon.If you have any other Q's just post them up in the correct forum and they will get answered not alway fast but they will get an answer.
