v6 intake

does anyone know why theres that big 'v' in the intake between the throttle body and the MAF sensor on the v6's? im thinking about taking it out and making my own intake. i just wanna make sure its not for something important

No offense .....but I read your post and too be honest I have no clue what your trying to ask.Maybe a pic or more details would be of more help...?

non taken. theres nothing wrong with it i just dont understand why the intake pipe doesnt go strait from the MAF sensor right to the throttle body. instead it goes from the MAF sensor down to some little chamber then back up to the throttle body. ill try to figure out how to get pics on here as soon as possible. thanks for the input tho
