I have a stock 1988 toyota 4x4 truck and i was wanting to know how big can i safely go on tire size without a lift

I had 31's on the stock 6 inch wide wheel and i had very little rubbing at full lock and stuff.

33's you can fit safely, take off the front valence and they will fit, they might rub a bit at full lock. If you cut a tiny bit off the fenders they will fit fine. Also you could crank the torsion bars a bit.

Since 31" tires was an option from the factory, it's obvious they will fit. 32's will work too w/o any rubbing, staying with a close to stock width rim.
