Ok, I am very new here, i have read through this section. I am currently kicking around some ideas, like putting a 327 crate motor @ 350hp, a 700R4 trans, chevy 3/4 ton axles, redoing the interior, new seats, new dash, Rhino liner on the floor. As for the exterior there are very few spots of rust and what there are are paint bubbles, that I believe are just surface and can be ground out and painted over. I want to bring this truck back to a cherry condition. I have looked for brush guards with no luck, and have a roll bar to put in it. I want to put a winch on it as well. The wheel/tire that i have on it are 31x10.5. which is plenty of tire for me as it will be a daily driver as well as off road. I am not sure of exactly will happen to this truck, but right now those are the ideas I have. Any other suggestions would be great, as I am having trouble thinking up what is available for this truck. I am sure there are some great ideas the ppl on here have that i have not thought of. so let the suggestions roll in!

Ok, here are some pics of my 83 as it stands. I just paid $1500 for it, and it came with an extra tranny, flywheel, head, carb, starter, alternator, clutch, and other goodies. There is the good, now the bad. The body needs minor work, but ithe interior need to be overhauled.

Lucky....
You know you've got a quality vehicle, when its in good shape and the seats worn out!
Does it have finger grooves in the steering wheel?
I'd knock someone over to get that truck for $1500

That is a good buy! I just got basically the same thing for $1100, but the exterior's in a bit worse shape, as well as the interior. Also no extras, and probably a new clutch & timing chain coming soon... Good work. I'm excited, but it needs some work. My seat & dash look just like yours.

I've never seen a truck that old in that good a shape. The exterior is pretty much immaculate not even 2003 vehicles around here look that good. Great buy.
