Has anyone else switched there tires to a smaller size since this fuel bs? right now i have 33" procomp m/t w 4" lift on a 1997 tacoma xtracab 4x4.
I use the truck as a daily driver in L.A. county and it seems that these tire are costing me in fuel, so im switching/down sizing until im going to use them.
my question is how small can i go in tire size(orig. 225/75/15) without it looking to goofy on a 16" wheel(mt classic 2)?
i was thinking 255/70/16 on dayton timberline h/t although the a/t look better.

This depends on wether or not you've changed the dif gears. If you have changed them to match the 33's going to a smaller tire can tach out the motor which is not a good thing. But if you still have the stock gears this will help your MPG's.As for how it will look, well others may think this matters but I'm a believer that if it functions better who cares what it looks like.

im goin from a 37 to a 35 and goin from a mud terrain to an all terrain mainly becuase it is pointless to have a mud tire on a dd when i have a set or 40 iroks to wheel on. that and mud tires suck in the snow around town.

I am still on the same ol' tires. I just have to much love for my truck. I just don't drive as much as i used to.
