33's

How hard is it to turn 33's with the 22re 5sp and stock gears. Is it a big difference from 31's. I left my 31's on when I did my lift. How good of gas mileage. And is it any harder on the clutch. A buddy of mine had a ranger with 31-12.50 15 swampers and he went through 2 clutches with that set of tires.

Well it is gonne be a lil harder on the engine especially a 4cyl. and transmission to move the tires. WIth that in mind performance will go down as well as gas mileage. So if u have already put the 33s, better invest in some gears quick.

... So if u have already put the 33s, better invest in some gears quick. Don't jump too any conclusions like that. Running 33's/5 spd/4.10 combo is very common. You will notice a slight drop in power and fuel economy, but most people find they can live with it. You may need to use 4th gear a little more often, to climb hills you could do in 5th before, etc., but definitely doable. If your truck came with the factory 31" tire package, you're already geared better (4.30) so the change will be even less noticeable.

I have not put on the 33's yet. I was just pondering it on my next set of tires. I plan on putting a cam and header on my truck soon. so that will boost the juice a little. My truck gets about 20 mpg right now and i do a lot of driving. I dont have the money to regear so I dont know what I am going to do. I cant really spin my 31's that fast in the mud so I dont know if the 33's will be sufficient. any more info will be great.
