I been working on my project 1995 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 2.7L 5-speed and have given it a tune-up. The truck still runs rough. One obvious this that’s wrong is my friend broke the throttle up sensor and we put a screw where it was sucking in air. That worked to keep it running at idle speed but, when you give it gas, it acts like it’s out of time. I had a back yard mechanic look at it and he said that it didn't have any leaks. Does anyone have an extra throttle up sensor I can buy off them? Any other suggestions I can try will help.
Thanks,
George In Texas

I would say it's the TPS(throttle position sensor).I've had this issue twice now.Your better off buying a new one.You can get them from the dealer for around $50 to $65 Check out Partznet.com I think they had the lowest price. If you like you can PM me your vin # and I can get you the correct part # if you can't read it off of the old one.
