the brackets on the top of the axle where the springs rest have both come unwelded. (not lose or anything, just separated, and leaking gear dope. rear end grease everywhere. I found a used axle for $800. Surely there is another alternative. I believe the ratio is 4.555. Surely someone has a suggestion. will a chevy rear end fit? 93 t-100, regular cab, v6 4x4. Any info anyone has on this would be appreciated.

ok, here is what happened: Looked and looked, and could find nothing that would work. Cheapest out was over $1,000 with shipping. uhhhhh, no. I removed the rear end from the truck, removed 3rd member and axles, and thoroughly cleaned the axle. beat the pedistalls right (using 2 levels) and then had them welded right. another cleaning, primed, painted, new seals, new bearings, and put it all back together. works like a champ, with no leaks. Total cost: $83, including the welding. I got lucky. Was done out of desparation, not confidence. I am sooo glad it worked.
