Hello, I have been into serious rock crawling for the past 4 years and back country exploring for the last 20 years. I currently run an 87 K5 Blazer. I am tired of feeding this bottomless pit and wish to go back to exploring the back country. One of the vehicles I'm considering is a 2000-2001 Tacoma Pickup. Could someone give me information on the capabilities of a stock 4x4 Tacoma or one with minimal alterations. The truck will be used for exploring the mountains of Colorado and Western Utah.

WELCOME to TOR! As far as a tacomas capability.Well I guess you could check around the in your town section, look under the Northeast and see some of mine and 4xfred's wheeling threads I've run all levels of trails except for red rated one's.I've been rock crawling my tacoma for about 7 years. They are very expensive to build/repair but are a lot of fun on the trail. But the expense of them is what has gotten me to build a older Toy so I don't have to worry as much about damage. My tacoma is a excursion rig and I want to try and keep it that way.
