94 p/u with a rough country 4/5 suspension lift that hasnt been on the truck a year yet and all the shocks are leaking.what i was wondering is if the shocks that come with the lift kits are just plain shocks and not heavy duty so-to speak,i do haul a good bit of wood in the truck from time to time and all of huntin season my dog box is in the back and it does weigh quite a bit.just wandering if shocks off chevy or ford will fit or if i gotta buy a higher grade and dollar shock from rough country or rancho or somebody else

the shocks that I have seen with those kits seem to be pretty generic I'd look for a better shock which will be a little more $ but well worth it...look at the bilstein they are my personl fav.

Just because the shocks are sweating doesnt mean they are bad. Unbolt them from the bottom and stroke them. If they suddenly get easy at some point to compress they are bad. Otherwise they are fine.
Shocks valved for a chevy or ford will be way to stiff. Upgrading to a better quality shock for your application such as Bilstein will give you much more sastisfactory results.
