My 6 cyl. has 4.10 gears, with my 31's its like starting in 2nd gear. I want to put 4.33's or bigger. Do all 4 cylinder, automatics, have them or are they in certain models or years?

Are you sure there isnt an issue with your motor? It shouldnt be that bad. I know i ran this combo for a few years in my 4runner for years and it was faster then any stock toy 4 cyl 4x4.
4.33 wont even be noticeably different. 4.56s would be a better bet if you are going to bother. I dont know that there is a rhyme or reason to what you will find those in. I got my V6 stock 4.56 rear out of a 92 pickup and my elocker with factory 4.56s from a 99 4runner with a 4 banger. Call a wrecker and tell them what you are looking for or go root around a junk yard yourself.

All 22RE/auto equipped trucks without the factory 31" tire package have 4.30 gears, axle code G282. If it had the 31" tire package it would have 4.88 gearing, axle code G142.

I think i am running 4.30 gears in my 2002 4 cyl tacoma on 33 12.50's. I was wondering if i were to jump to 4.88 gears, would i be over shooting my mark for 33's ? and would the 4.88 be good enough to run 37's ?
