Just had a new Timing chain kit installed with new water pump on my 92 22RE pick up, but now whenever i put the truck under good acceleration and especially if i am a little under the speed for a higher gear, i get that knocking or some sort of valve noise (almost sounds like a diesel engine) , which wouldnt happen withe the older chain.. If anyone knows what could be the prob. Note that when im reving the engine in neutral at high Rpm it sounds perfect. Any reply would be appreciated Thank you

What about timing! I would check the timing it might be off. just my $0.02! Almost sounds like the timing is WAY advanced or the chain jumped time. The noise is detenotion, piston slamming into the air/fuel mixture while its exploding instead of the explosion pushing the piston down.

could be a defective water pump - check the knock sensor circuit, the wire at the sensor maybe broke or not connected. And like others have stated it maybe a timming issue

Thanx for all the advices , it was in fact the timing that had to be reajusted after installing the new kit.
