i was messin around and i think i hit a hole or something and bent the left front a arm bracket. not that bad but bad enough. i also have the pro comp 4" lift. those brackets also bent but pretty sure i can bend them back or buy new ones. so my question is do i spend my time trying to bend it back or just do a sas. this truck will mostly be a dd. opinions are appreciated. thanx

If you have the time and money do the SAS. Price out the repairs / parts to fix the IFS and compare to what a SAS will cost.

Unless you think you may have plans for doing trails that need extra flex I'd do a SAS, but if it mostly a DD then I'd keep the IFS for the smoother ride.

ya thats what i figured. i use my trekker mostly for trails so i wanna keep this truck as smooth as possible. i just dont want to weaken the brackets even more by bending it back.

Bend them back and add gussets wherever possible.

That would work too. Either way you should add metal to the brackets so this doesn't happen again

thats what i think im going to do. and then gusset the crap out of it.
now as far as my 4" pro comp lift i only need the one bracket (im going to try and bend it back but its pretty mangled) will pro comp sell just that one bracket?

upon taking more measurments i found out that both sides are bent. so i am now forced to do a solid axle swap. i just have a couple of questions.
i know there is much debate but i think i will go with trail gears kit cause its a little bit cheaper and they ship to canada for free. i can get an axle for dirt cheap from an 85.
my truck has the 31" tire option (so 4.56's) what are my options for this? can i get 4.56 for the new front solid? or do i have to regear to 4.88's? (i have 33's)
also i know these axles are narrower so the kits provides wheel spacers. but my rims have a really big offset. will this axle handle the extra stress?
i have a good idea on the answers to these questions, just wanted some other opinions.
any input is greatly appreciated. thanks
