Just a "heads up" as this was officially announced earlier this week:
The "Kajun Mudfest" will be hosted at the Florida Parishes Arena in Amite, LA on the weekend of March 13-15, 2009. Amite is located approx. 1 hour North of New Orleans by way of Interstate 55.
This event will feature 2 side-by-side mud racing pits with classes for trucks and ATV's. Kids events are also planned, TBA.
Entry fees and admission charges will be kept very reasonable and the cash prize purses will have nice minimums. This is planned to be an annual event, so organizers want to make sure the cost is not at all prohibitive to the racers or the spectators.
RV parking will be available, with over 30 spots that have power and water hookups. There are also several acres where you can park and run a generator. The facility has nice (hot) showers, etc, it's top-notch!
More information will be made available soon and a website is under construction, so I'll keep you posted as things progress.
