Just made the switch from a Jeep to a 88 4runner. Got tired of wheeling in the heat with no AC and no protection when the weather turned rainy. Love the ride, the room and in AZ the AC. Well I will once it turns hot. Just had the 22re rebuilt and new tires. Gathering info on axles and an aussie locker for the rear. For now it will be a sleeper rig on 31's, but soon 33's.

Great rig to build on! You got it before they started putting the 3.slow in them. Welcome to the club, and good luck!

Welcome to TOR! Glad to see another one turned to the darkside.I also was a former #$%^ owner and once you get your runner out on the trail you'll be asking yourself, what the hell took me so long. ;D You shouldn't need to do anything to the axles yet.Just lock it and have some fun. After a while the truck will tell you what is needed.Don't bother with lifting it too much just get some Ball joint spacers make a set of hybrid leaf packs for the rear and at worst add a 1" bodylift and you should clear the 33's.Check out 4xfred's rig he has a good set up and it works very well.4xfred opted to crank the torsion bars a little bit opposed to installing ball joint spacers,it's a rougher ride but it was cost effective.

Yes we have reached our quota of Arizona guys so we're going to have to ask you to move to another state. ;D
Welcome to TOR from yet another former Heep owner. I actually enjoyed mine, but have always loved Toys more. Hope you enjoy your stay.
